Glad I found a Necchi !

I was glad to find a Necchi sewing machine. Wasn't sure they were still made; I used to have my grandmothers and missed it. So far this new one is better than cheap singers etc

This is an attractive looking machine. It's easy to thread. I haven't tried the threader but there is a white patch to help with regular threading. For a small machine, it really performs well with multiple layers of fabric. I repaired a bed protector and it handled 4 layers plus padding with ease.(Much better than the Bernette b35) The tension is good. It makes a nice even straight read more stitch. The feed dog keeps the fabric layers together well so pinning can be minimized. The needle position and the width of the zigzag seem to be integrated... when using the widest zigzag, the needle gets positioned to the far left. I would have liked to be able to shorten the zigzag stitch to be a satin. The light is adequate. When I first used it, the needle seized a couple of times. I didn't really understand why. My Bernina 1008 and Bernette b35 haven't done that. So I really didn't know why that happened. It does seems to be running fine now.

Great machines!

I bought a Necchi back in 1990....it is a heavy duty...I love this machine and have never had a single problem with it! I highly recommend this brand!

Lost Necchi restored!

Long ago my beloved 1971 Necchi went MIA during a divorce. The "restoration" of my Necchi with this Anniversary Edition model proves that the "wait" was well worth it. First, it is compact, light-weight, and sleek in design. Most importantly it is uncomplicated. My sewing requirements are straightforward, executing vintage "replica" clothing. This robust and reliable machine read more and my projects are well-matched.

Great product and company

Overall, sews well, and is reasonably steady for a portable. Nice ergonomic styling, the slope is more user-friendly than a squared-off design. Quick and easy to set up and get going, controls are well marked and easy to understand, even without the manual. Tension setting was a bit of a surprise - the normal/average as marked on the dial had to be adjusted for two layers of quilting-weight read more cotton, because otherwise the top thread was too loose. One quirk: when beginning a seam, the top and bobbin threads need to be held taut or the top thread will jam around the bobbin shuttle. Not a problem once I figured that out. Doesn’t come with many accessories, only presser feet are universal, zipper, buttonhole, and button sewing, but it accepts standard generic “snap on” feet. Foot control pedal allows for fine transition from very slow to speedier stitching (as opposed to some machines that can’t stitch slowly, a problem for tricky bits on projects). Super easy to fill a bobbin, and to thread the machine. Love the needle threader, nice feature. Does a good job with zigzag and overcast stitches and selecting those is just the turn of a dial. I’m used to sewing on a 1950’s Singer 66, and a Necchi Supernova, both very heavy, very sturdy machines. The K 132A compares nicely to them in stitch quality.
